Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
Following the Government’s announcement, preparations for Alert Level 3 are now underway at Royal Oak Intermediate. For our planning, one thing we need to have very accurate is our Alert Level 3 School Roll. Please follow the link below and complete the short survey as soon as possible. We need this information from all families before school opens
The statement from the government is that:
“Work and learn from home if you can. We still want the vast majority of people working from home, and children and young people learning from home.”
To continue to support families to work from, home teachers will continue to use their Classroom Google Sites, Zoom and other platforms to support the learning of individuals in their classes.
During Level 3, the programme that children will be following at school will be the same as the Home Learning provided online. The small numbers that do come to school, will not necessarily see their own classroom teacher, and will be following the Home Learning Programme set by their classroom teacher.
We are gathering the advice from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health about Alert Level 3 and will implement this at school. The current advice is that children need to be at least 1 metre apart inside, and 2 metres apart outside. There is a range of cleaning and hygiene advice too, and we will be following this as well. All high touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected at least once a day and hand sanitiser will be available in all classes. Classrooms will not exceed ten pupils, and will not mix with other classes. All of the guidance provided will be implemented before school opens.
