Covid-19 update

Kia ora Royal Oak Intermediate whanau

As many of you will be aware there have been some rapid developments in the last 48 hours, some of which affect Auckland schools.

Please remember that Health officials have predicted right through that the number of cases of Covid-19 would increase, and that individual schools might need to close for short time periods, in response to the risk of an exposure.

At this stage we have no reason to close Royal Oak Intermediate School. We do have a small number of students and staff who are taking the precaution of self-isolating due to medical conditions, but there is no evidence to indicate that any of them has been infected. If you would like more information on whether you are potentially at risk you can check https://covid19.govt.nz/help-and-advice/for-everyone/vulnerable-people/

We are following the official advice from the government and encourage you to do the same. I apologise for the lateness of this email, but wanted to provide the most up-to-date information available before the start of the new school week.

In conclusion, please remember that the health and safety of our students is always our top priority in any decision making, stay safe and well.
